When you train your dog from home, there are many different dog training techniques that you can use. You can use either positive or negative techniques of disciplining your dog.Any bad behavior from your dog that makes you punish them is an example of negative training. When you reward your dog when he does the correct thing is an example of what positive training is. However, when you seek dog training advice you will notice that the positive reinforcement is much more preferred than punishment.

Never ignore your pets action, whether it misbehaves or does something right. In a firm voice tell him “no” when he does something you don’t approve of. To insure that your dog does not develop negative feelings towards you make sure that you always use non-violent corrective measures. Reward him with treats and praise if he has done what you want him to do. You don’t want him to learn out of fear, rather you want him to learn out of kindness and love. This is what most dog training advice books will tell you When it comes to commands make sure to always be consistent. Don’t correct him if he has not done any wrong or it might just confuse him. This can easily ruin your training and stop your dog’s progress.

Time and frequency is important when you train or discipline your dog. Always observe proper timing when you try to strengthen your dog’s attitude. This is because your dog might not understand why is he being praised and rewarded, when you leave a long time between a good act and the praise. So make sure to do all this three things in the right time. This reward techniques will make the dog respond the right way in certain situations. Repeating it again and again will help the dog recognize it and sooner or later will do it automatically without even waiting for any reward.

Another good dog training advice is to observe slow progress. You training sessions should start simple and slowly goes to an advance stage and complex commands. Before going any further make sure that your dog has mastered the simple tasks first. If your dogs progress has stopped then investigate if your doing things the right way or it might be that your dog has grown tired of your training session. It is important that you make your training session short because your dog might be restless.   When you think that your dog is getting restless and agitated already then don’t push commands or your dog will most likely disobey. Call it a day if you see your dog getting restless and stop the training sessions.

Remember that you want your dog and you to enjoy the lessons so keep them fun . You will see how fast your dog’s progress is when your dog does it willingly. You will see your dog’s eagerness to learn if he sees this activity with much pleasure instead of a threat to him. A well behave dog is big help in your household as well as to your community. You can see the built trust and confidence between you two with your training, and will be proud when you have a well trained dog!
