Because my Mom is a very hard working mother. She only has 1 day off a week. And she needs that day off to rest. So I would rather not go to a vet unless it’s the single only option to get rid of fleas. I don’t want any of that Hartz junk that only shortened my dog’s lifespan a few times. I am already using a flea comb but no matter how many I find, I always find more.
I also vacuum the house once a week while cleaning up our beds to get rid of flea eggs. So far, a normal shower only got rid of a few fleas from my dog but they just keep appearing. So I want to use a good flea shampoo probably made of natural ingredients. I heard of some but all the ones I find can only be purchased online and that is out of our reach right now. So if anyone could suggest a good flea shampoo that can be found in common stores, I would really appreciate it.
P.S. He’s a dog.
I see…. So are there some flea pills that can be found in stores? Or even ordered online so I could explain it to my mom at least.

Here is the deal i don’t want to give the wrong impression, i am a HUGE dog lover. I have three dogs now however they are really my moms dogs. in our family a dog is a person and treated as such.we celebrate there birthdays and let them sleep in the beds and are very happy. However i am getting married and moving out and i cant live without a dog (or two we will see what my wife says) so i am going to get a german shepherd. I am in love with the breed as well as rhodesian ridgebacks. but i sometimes work late nights and my wife would be home alone due to the fact that she is out of work earlier then i. I want to feel as tho my wife will be safe god forbid there was a intruder in my home. i know that there is allot of training involved with a shepherd yet i hesitate to have the dog TRAINED as a GUARD DOG. i don’t want the dog to feel like a body guard i feel it is somewhat cruel to do so. the most important thing to me is to have the dog KNOW he is a member of my family and that i love him. I am starting school in sept, to actually be an animal behaviorist (this after years of Psychology i realized i like animals much more the people) yet i must admit i do not know enough about training a dog as of now so my question is: If a dog is a trained guard dog is it possible for him to also know he is a loving member of the family because if not i will take the loving member of the family over the guard dog hands down. I do know that a dog loves to have a job (i watch dogs 101) but wonder if a dog is taught aggression and thus rewarded for this action it seems only natural that the dog would use this new found way of receiving praise in other aspects of life. In HUMAN PSYCH which i promise i know a great deal about it would be know as positive reinforcement of a negative behavior. in my eyes a dog is first and foremost a loving companion not a bodyguard but if i can have both all the better. So please if anyone has any REAL KNOWLEDGE in this area an answer would be greatly appreciated. I hope no one gets the wrong idea i love my animals they are my best friends and really members of my family im not some jerk looking for a dog to leave outside and be mean and bark and fight that is the last thing i want i hate to see that i want a loving dog that will stay by my side and love me as much as i love him (like i have now) i currently have a chow mix that is extremely protective but not very good with people outside the family i love her and wouldn’t trade her for the world but i want a confident protective dog that will welcome people but still protect my wife and god willing someday soon children. Sorry so wordy i just wanted to explain myself properly.
THANK YOU
if there are any animal behaviorists or K-9 cops please answer i beg of you i wonder if a trained guard dog should only be with a trained handler i.e. k-9 cop or something like that to me the most important thing is to be fair to the dog (this is my second time askin same question sorry just lookin for the best possible answer)

My 11-month-old Great Pyrenees has started limping on his right front foot pretty badly. I checked his foot pad and there were no punctures, and I felt up and down his leg and he didn’t act like I was paining him by doing it.
He stays outside at night with my Dobie to guard our chickens, and he spends a good deal of time running and barking at things. He doesn’t have to (he and my Dobie both have beds in the barn) be up all night, but he still does. Could he just have sprained something?
He’s been limping for about four days, and I would take him to the local vet, but the vet doesn’t have an x-ray machine so I would have to take him to the city, so I thought that I could wait it out and see if he stopped.
He has had no injuries, he’s given a proper diet (Diamond Naturals Adult Chicken and Rice supplemented with chicken and eggs), and it’s really worrying me because I love him very much. What do you think is wrong?

Not just his poop- any poop. Poop he finds outside, or poop he does fresh, it doesn’t matter. I know, I know, it’s natural, but it’s out of sheer gluttony that he does it (he’s a lab, need I say more?) and it’s more than annoying now.
He will eat poop, reguritate it, and eat it again. Thus, the carpets, floors, pavements, and beds are not safe, and spewing it up again and again can’t be good for his stomach and throat.
Naturally, I can’t watch him 24/7, I’ve tried, and it can’t be done. I’ve put a muzzle on him, but he eats through it and covers everything he touches with it in fecal matter. I’ve tried sprays, but to no avail.
I’ve picked it up straight away, but he’ll go and do another one before I can stop him.
So, the short version? I need help.
He’s fed on Wilson’s meal- the same stuff working dogs are given- and the dog "sausage" meat mixed together, and so far it’s been the best thing I’ve tried, it fills him up, but he just loves food.
Please- don’t tell me why he’s doing it, I just need help to stop him from doing it.
I’ve been to the vets, they told me there’s not much they can do for that.
And trust me on this one, it is out of SHEER gluttony. Not the fact that his diet is wrong, I’ve tried him on so many different types of food I’ve lost count- and this is the only type that he is sort of satisfied with.

Examples:
BYBs
Teenagers who think they can care for a dog
People who get dogs thinking they’ll train themselves
People that don’t pick up after their dog
Monsters that abuse their dogs
etc
What goes on through these people’s minds when they act like this? I’m a fourteen-year-old and my dog has TWO beds, is fed Natural Balance, and is RESCUED.
I don’t know why people won’t pick up a BOOK before bringing a LIFE ANIMAL, the equivilant of a newborn baby, into their HOMES.

sorry for typo, i was in my mad streak.
Orisons, I’m not witty enough to understand your answer, but my question is why people are so stupid about dogs and why they won’t care for them, etc. Sorry.
Pressbutan – I’d like to get some opinions from my fellow dog owners, do you mind?
It’s not like those questions, that are far more stupid than this one, "OMFG MY DOG IS BABYING RIGHT NOW I HAVE ONE ON MY KEYBOARD. WUT I DO!?"
Nope.
And I knew I was gonna have people like you answer this, so whatever.
Pam: I like your answer. I really do, you have a good point.
But if I wasn’t to try to educate, why wouldn’t I be on here? I’m actually making fliers to pass out at school about puppy mills, too. But I’m not perfect, and neither is everybody else.
[at this point, Y!A is probably gonna delete this for replying to answerers. It's okay, I'll just move on. ^^]
Good point, guys.
I should be calmer, and I usually am, it’s just recently I’ve totally lost it after browsing these boars, but I know that’s no excuse. Thanks for your answers. <3
another typo. boards**** [God, I suck tonight, lol.]
