To Dad:
(Before you read this please read this thoroughly)
I have been doing a lot of research on cats and the benefits that they can bring to the household. In addition to the enjoyment we will receive from the cat, I will learn responsibility and we will be helping a cat that my have been euthanized otherwise. Additionally, cats are proven to reduce blood pressure and they are also proven to reduce stress in the household. I know you may be worried about the expense of adding a feline to the household (especially with today’s economy) but I can assure you that I have planned a budget to help cover the costs of the cat. I have a part time job and will contribute all of my money to the expenses of the cat BEFORE purchasing anything for myself. I understand the costs and have created a list of supplies as well as their costs to follow. I have also included a schedule for the care of the cat which shows when I will feed, clean the litter box, groom and train the cat. I am willing to sign a contract that if I do not take care of my obligations to the cat in terms of the cost or the responsibility I will lose a privilege such as TV, phone or computer for a length of time determined by you.

List of Costs
Cat from an animal shelter 0 or less (includes shots, spay/neuter)
Food per month
Litter per month
Litter box
Water and food bowls
Scratching post
Toys
Annual veterinary care (non emergency) or saved per month.

Total startup: 2 and Monthly after that:
Contract:

I Jonathan Glidewell accept to the duty of owning a cat. This will include of paying for the whole economical costs, paying for the supplies, grooming, training the cat, scooping up the cat’s poop when I go see the litter box I will scoop up the poop and pee. I will groom the cat regularly on a daily basis if it has long hair or if it is short haired every other day. If the cat bites or scratches up anyone I will get a small spray bottle and spray it and eventually it will realize that doing that is wrong. I will open up a saving’s account and save up money for the emergency vet. I will also plan to get the kitty just right after he got his shots and has been spayed/neutered.

I have four month old female beagle. She came from a no kill shelter. She has had so many issues. She constantly poops in her kennel. I take her out before I put her in there. She is on the same schedule every day. I feed her at 6am, noon, and 5 pm. I never put her in her kennel before 10. My other dog doesn’t mind her kennel and sleeps sound all night long. Their kennels were together in the living room but now are in our bed room. I cannot sleep soundly because I am busy taking her out all night long. She also has a nasty habit of eating my other beagles poop. She will actually eat the poop as my other dog is pooping. I have tried forbid, meat tenderizers, spray bottles, chili powder (which didn’t even faze her), light spanking, and yelling Stop. She is also obsessed with food and can never seem to get enough. I give her Natural Life. She is only 9 lbs at 4 months. My vet told me to up her food 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, she now has diarrhea and has had it for a while now. She shouldn’t have worms. She has been de-wormed two times. I can’t take much more of this…. Please help!

I have a 6 month old Papilon who poops a lot and often. More times than not I either come home to a lot of poop everywhere or wake up to a lot of poop everywhere. I feed him Wellness brand wet and dry. I give him about 2 ounces of wet in the morning with about 1/3 cup of dry. This is both according to the label on the package. He eats the wet almost right away but I don’t see he eat the dry in the morning and he just nibbles on the dry throughout the day and never finishes the entire 1/3 cup. I let him nibble on that 1/3 cup of dry throughout the day because I have to leave him around 8am and can’t get back till after 5. I also have no one to come check in on him. Rarely I have someone to babysit all day. At night I don’t give him any more wet, just healthy treats like boiled chicken and Zuke’s natural treats. I don’t know if leaving the dry down all day makes him poop a lot and often but since I am gone all day I’m afraid he would be starving. As soon as I wake up I take him outside and then take him out again before I leave for work but more times than not he pooped before I even got up- which is around 7/7:30. He doesn’t poop within a short time of eating like most web sites say he would do. I take him out as soon as I get home (either he has already pooped on the floor or poops when I take him out) and then I take him out frequently till I go to bed. Yesterday he pooped when I got home and then again 20 minutes later. I couldn’t get him to poop before bed, but then I woke up to poop on the floor. The vet told me he is a good weight and the food I buy I was told is top notch. Any advice would be great.

Dog eats poop. Any suggestions?

Not just his poop- any poop. Poop he finds outside, or poop he does fresh, it doesn’t matter. I know, I know, it’s natural, but it’s out of sheer gluttony that he does it (he’s a lab, need I say more?) and it’s more than annoying now.
He will eat poop, reguritate it, and eat it again. Thus, the carpets, floors, pavements, and beds are not safe, and spewing it up again and again can’t be good for his stomach and throat.
Naturally, I can’t watch him 24/7, I’ve tried, and it can’t be done. I’ve put a muzzle on him, but he eats through it and covers everything he touches with it in fecal matter. I’ve tried sprays, but to no avail.
I’ve picked it up straight away, but he’ll go and do another one before I can stop him.

So, the short version? I need help.
He’s fed on Wilson’s meal- the same stuff working dogs are given- and the dog "sausage" meat mixed together, and so far it’s been the best thing I’ve tried, it fills him up, but he just loves food.
Please- don’t tell me why he’s doing it, I just need help to stop him from doing it.
I’ve been to the vets, they told me there’s not much they can do for that.
And trust me on this one, it is out of SHEER gluttony. Not the fact that his diet is wrong, I’ve tried him on so many different types of food I’ve lost count- and this is the only type that he is sort of satisfied with.

14 year old Pure-breed Dalmation (fixed)

I feed her all natural corn-free food twice a day. Once in the A.M. and once in the early evening as always since we got her as a puppy. We tried to switch that to once a day for a month. Then we tried three smaller meals for a month. Neither of those changes seemed to help.

She has almost been the perfect dog as far as potty training issues are concerned. However over the last year she has started to slow down a bit and seems to be getting worse and worse with the pooping thing.

She wakes up at all random times now sometimes to just get comfortable and sometimes to poop right next to or onto her bed. Then she’ll lay right back down sometimes on the pile. She’s always been a clean dog, but now it’s like she’s giving up.

She’s still healthy and the vet said we’ll just have to deal with the poop. However if anyone know of a product or idea to at least help her poop less often that would be great.
